Jesus also said "render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s
and to God what is Gods", which means abide by the laws of the
city, state and country in which you live, and abide by the laws of
God! Abiding by the laws of the country would include having proper
papers.
My mother always
said to "have no sympathy for stupidity" which
I never completely understood until I was a parent. I believe this concept
was covered in the "tough love" portion of the parenting classes.
And I find it serves me well in my daily business dealing as well.
When
I look for a definition of Human Rights, I find a very intelligent discussion
at Wikipedia, which approached it from the legislative perspective (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights). Here
is an extract...
Where it has been adopted, legislation commonly contains:
- security rights-
that prohibit crimes such as murder/"enforced" involuntary
suicide, massacre, torture and rape
- liberty rights - that protect freedoms in areas such as belief and
religion, association, assembling and movement
- political rights - that protect the liberty to participate in politics
by expressing themselves, protesting, participating in a republic
- due process
rights - that protect against abuses of the legal system
such as imprisonment without trial, secret trials and excessive punishments
- equality rights - that guarantee equal citizenship, equality before
the law and nondiscrimination
- welfare rights - (also known as economic rights) that require the
provision of, e.g., education, paid holidays, and protections against
severe poverty and starvation
- group rights - that provide protection for groups against ethnic
genocide and for the ownership by countries of their national territories
and resources
Reverend, you and several have tried to make the issue of Illegal Aliens
a Human Rights Issue. So far as I can tell, by the above definitions,
there are no Human Rights violations in the United State's dealing with
today, or possible future dealing with the Illegal aliens in this country.
Illegal Aliens today have...
- ...the same protection of due process, and from violent crime under
our laws as US Citizens are getting, despite the fact that they are
not citizens. They may live in fear of deportation, a logic consequence
of their actions, but not of genocide. (Security, Due Process and
Group)
- ...freedom to freely practice and observe tenants of their own cultural
and religious background, regardless of the fact that some cultural
practices are in direct controversy with US Laws. They also clearly
can gather, and protest without fear of reprisal. (liberty)
- ...The ability to file a legal request for citizenship to the United
States, or stay citizens of your home country, living in the United
States illegally. Easy choice, with consequences, which clearly is
not the path most illegals want. (political and equality)
- ...mobility and jobs, which means they are not wanting for shelter,
food, transportation, or social interaction and support, and despite
the low wages, there is no violation of human rights. In fact, there
is sufficient money being made on those low wages to 'send back home'
- so I don't buy the low wages as a violation argument!! (welfare
and liberty)
So, I'm very confused over the consistent noise I hear about human rights
violations, as their behavior clearly shows freedom of choice!!!
- The illegals have chosen to violate our laws by not coming into this
country the correct way.
- They have chosen to not swear allegiance to this country and it's
flag.
- They choose to not leave, instead choose to play a waiting game,
hoping for amnesty.
- They choose to not heed the warnings, yet cry foul every time there's
an ICE raid and deportations.
As my mom said... Show no Sympathy for Stupidity!!!
