Florida Minutemen PatriotsPhilosophyPASSION – DEDICATION – PATRIOTISMThese are words that Minutemen use to describe themselves, and the modern day Minutemen movement. Florida Minutemen Patriots are all volunteers, with a wide range of skills and backgrounds, some even legal immigrants themselves. We are working together with other local and national grassroots organizations to raise awareness of the options available to American citizens, and law enforcement, to return to effective enforcement immigration law - thereby removing the threat to our jobs and lifestyle. Minutemen observe, record, and report. Members identify areas that are gathering spots for illegals looking for work, businesses that employ illegals, and safe houses where illegals are being harbored. Information on these locations is sent to local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices, Code Enforcement, local Law Enforcement. Additionally, infomation on the state and federal statutes and consequences of harboring and employing illegal aliens is sent to landlords and employers. We have found this form of education very effective.Florida Minutemen Patriots are working with lawmakers and enforcement agencies to foster an environment of enforcement of the law, rather than the current tolerance we have been seeing. Florida Minutement Patriots wholeheartedly support the 287G program, and encourage all local law enforcement agencies to take advantage of it. And Florida Minutemen Patriots are convinced that job site/employer enforcement is the primary mechanism by which the rule of law will be restored. We know that if the jobs and cash flow are removed, as has happened in other states and municipalities, the illegal aliens profiting from lack of enforcement will self deport shortly after. The Minutemen are passionate about protecting their country, they are dedicated to finding ways to encourage enfocement of existing immigration laws, and they are patriots, proud to be Americans.
"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
